Our special visitor

This little lady turned up at our pond in November 2019 and came back almost every day to hunt for about a month.
She returned the following year (almost to the day) to once again fish in our garden for a few weeks.
We'd just put a temporary string fence around the pond as a heron deterrent to give our fish half a chance until our water plants
got established.
...and to allay any concerns for the kingfisher being put off or even injured by the fence - I can confirm not only did it not interfere with her ability to fish; she actually used it as an effective hunting perch.
I can also confirm the heron deterrent fence didn't deter the heron whatsoever!
